What We Do

Who We Are

 MAESTRO 400 CAMPAIGN

MAI is dedicated to ensuring that every student has the chance to discover the power of musicianship.

We do this by :

*Providing private weekly instruction

*Conducting five performing ensembles

*Offering after-school programs in partnership with Chicago Public Schools and other school districts

Michael and Lana Manson are the founders and co-directors of the Musical Arts Institute. With over twenty years of experience as music educators, Mike and Lana opened MAI with the goal of making it possible for disadvantaged youth to receive high quality music education - regardless of their ability to pay.

The Mansons lead a team of 14 teaching artists in serving nearly 200 students on a weekly basis with high quality, low-cost private and group instruction.

Mike and Lana matriculated at Chicago State and Fisk Universitites respectively, each graduating with Bachelor degrees in music. They are also graduates of Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music with Master's degrees in Music Education and Voice.
